Let The Right One In

This film portrays a relationship between a vampire and young boy. Eli seems to take advantage of him. Yes she protects him and saves his life but in the long run she is saving him so he will be there to take care of her. In a sense she is being selfish because she is thinking about how he can help her not how being on the run and him being human will affect their journey. Oscar is there because he loves her. He accepts her for who she is and wants to protect her, for example when she is in the bath tub about to be attacked. Oscar gives warning to Eli and she fights off her attacker. She leaves then later returns in the film to save Oscar from drowning. The final scene shows them riding a train into the distance. This dream of a future is impossible unless he is to become her caregiver. Having a young child be the vampire gives the film a different look. People are more worried about adults then children killing them. Its plants a sort of remorse feeling in the audience.
