A vs. R. vs V

In the film "American Beauty" the idea of the American dream is hopeless. We see a family that has issues no one besides the family is aware of. Each family shows different experiences of everyday life. It can he very unrealistic because Lester has the ability to sleep with a high schooler with out getting caught. There are scenes when he imagines his daughters friend naked and wanting him sexually. There are realistic times when the marriage he has falls apart because they have lost love for each other. Both dream of cheating on their spouses and his wife Carolyn follows through. This movie dismantles the American dream by going in depth of how Lester's life full of work, family time, and a boring lifestyle is the downfall and end of his life. The view on suburban life is shown to be unfulfilling and less enjoyable then what we are taught. This film gives the oposite view of what we expect to grow up to become.
